“We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike” —Maya Angelou

Diana is a Certified Yoga Instructor and a Certified Animal-Assisted Psychotherapist. She loves connecting folks with animals. She teaches vinyasa yoga classes with Langton’s animal ambassadors at the Langton Green Community Farm.  She also teaches individual and group animal-assisted therapy classes at the Farm.  She co-hosts another popular activity –coffee chat — with one of the individuals in Langton’s care.  “Coffee chat is a weekly Zoom event, where we all meet as ‘friends’ to drink coffee, tea or whatever drink you choose, and discuss current topics and interests,” she says. “We started coffee chats during the pandemic as a way to stay connected.  It’s been a hit since 2020!”

Diana welcomes volunteers and is actively engaged with the wider community as well as individuals at Langton Green. She joined Langton Green as a direct support Professional in 2004.  She was quickly promoted from her role as caretaker to program assistant, then program manager, to become a program director. Cindy Fletcher-Holden is a local treasure, an artist with more than 30 years experience creating paintings, murals, and custom boat lettering. At Langton Green Community farm she has created eight stunning murals –two of them funded by generous support of Anne Arundel County Arts Council and four of them funded by the Maryland State Arts Council. Langton Green deeply appreciates the support of these organizations. Cindy leads workshops at Langton Green for residents and the wider community.

Cindy’s murals in Annapolis pay tribute to the city’s community, maritime history, and Eastport’s 150th anniversary.  Her paintings and murals can be seen in cities around the U.S., as well as in Spain and Portugal. Cindy exhibits her paintings at “Art between the Creeks”, the bi-annual group show she founded for the community.

John Iaquinta

John Iaquinta

Certified Farming Instructor

“A community is the mental and spiritual condition of knowing that the place is shared, and that the people who share the place define and limit the possibilities of each other’s lives. It is the knowledge that people have of each other, their concern for each other, their trust in each other, the freedom with which they come and go among themselves.”    Wendell Berry

Sustainable farming is the most recent addition to John’s role at Langton Green. He oversees the sustainable 13-acre farm in Millersville, Md. and its many programs and activities, including: its virtual programs for Langton Learning; vocational programs and opportunities for individuals at Langton Green; raising livestock for therapy activities; growing produce for Langton Green’s residences and sharing surplus with other nonprofits in need.  He also oversees the many ways the Farm serves as an educational resource for the wider community.  John is a mentor, trainer and friend to the individuals at Langton Green and helps them gain job skills and experience through Langton Green’s vocational programs, such as landscaping services for the wider community. John has a B.A. in English and was a teacher of special needs students for eight years before joining Langton Green in 2005.  Prior to that John has worked almost every direct care position Langton has to offer.
